The MURS Dakota Alert Driveway Announcing systems are the longest range wireless systems available and have the added bonus of two-way communication capability!

The MURS Alert Transmitter uses passive infrared detection technology and sends a signal back to the Base Station when a vehicle or person is detected. You will receive a voice message alert, notifying you of visitors in your monitored area. In an open field the MURS Alert Transmitter is capable of sending a signal miles away.

The MURS Alert transmitter is also capable of sending 4 different alert messages to the transceiver, giving you the ability to monitor separate zones. A portable, handheld receiver is also available to notify you if you are in a remote location on your property. Again, two-way communication is possible between the handheld receiver and the base station! Click here for details on the handheld receiver.

MURS Alert™ will give you realtime monitoring of remote locations up to several miles away.

The applications for the MURS Alert Driveway Announcing System are endless, given the long range capability. It is ideal for use by security guards, small businesses and also by hunters monitoring game trails; any scenario that requires immediate notification when someone or something enters a monitored location.

More about the MURS technology.....
MURS (Multi-Use Radio Service) was authorized by the FCC in November of 2000 as a private, two-way voice or data communications service for personal or business activities. The five MURS channels are available on a shared basis only. No channels are assigned on an exclusive basis, therefore it is up to the users to cooperate in the channel selection to help avoid interference. FCC rules do allow for the use of external antennas with MURS.
Range
You will notice that we describe the range of the MURS systems as several miles. While this might sound a little vague, we are not trying to deceive. The range will be dependent on your local surroundings. We have tested units here in South Dakota over flat ground to ranges of about 4 miles. However, if you are in an urban area with many tall buildings, your range may be cut down significantly.
Who can use MURS?
No license is needed. A person is authorized by rule to operate a MURS radio providing he or she is not a representative of a foreign government. Also, MURS can be used anywhere in the US except aboard an aircraft in flight.
