The DKMAPSBSKIT Vehicle Annunciation system uses the MURSMPT metal detection probe to notify you that a vehicle has entered a monitored area. The base station transceiver can be located in the house, office or work shop and plugged into any standard wall outlet.
The probe is attached to a transmitter box with 50 feet of direct burial cable and should be buried alongside the driveway with the transmitter box mounted on a tree or post about 4 feet high. The vehicle detector probe will detect the movement of a metal object such as a car coming up the driveway. The transmitter box operates on 6 AA batteries. The transmitter will then send a radio signal up to 4 miles back to the receiver* to activate the voice message. The base station transceiver that can receive an alert signal from the MURS Alert driveway alarm transmitter as well as two-way communications from other transceivers. Has a normally open (N/ O) relay contact that will close while an alert signal is being received. Increase your monitored area by adding more MURS sensors to your system!
The long range and ease of setup and operation make this vehicle annunciating system an ideal solution for many different applications, such as farms, small businesses and outdoor recreation events.

More about the MURS technology.....
MURS (Multi-Use Radio Service) was authorized by the FCC in November of 2000 as a private, two-way voice or data communications service for personal or business activities. The five MURS channels are available on a shared basis only. No channels are assigned on an exclusive basis, therefore it is up to the users to cooperate in the channel selection to help avoid interference. FCC rules do allow for the use of external antennas with MURS.
Range
You will notice that we describe the range of the MURS systems as several miles. While this might sound a little vague, we are not trying to deceive. The range will be dependent on your local surroundings. We have tested units here in South Dakota over flat ground to ranges of about 4 miles. However, if you are in an urban area with many tall buildings, your range may be cut down significantly.
Who can use MURS?
No license is needed. A person is authorized by rule to operate a MURS radio providing he or she is not a representative of a foreign government. Also, MURS can be used anywhere in the US except aboard an aircraft in flight.
